One of the hardest parts of entrepreneurship?
Waking up every day and reminding yourself:
No one’s coming to save you.
No boss. No hand-holding. No cheer squad.
It’s on you. The drive has to come from within.
This is one of the biggest reasons people fail.
Not because they don’t have a great idea.
But because they don’t tell themselves when to GO…
...and they don’t know when to STOP.
Personally?
I’ve lost a ridiculous amount of money chasing the need to be right.
I kept throwing cash at failing projects because I wanted them to work.
I ignored logic. I ignored data. I let ego drive the bus.
And ego burns money like it’s kindling.
Here’s the truth:
In business, you don’t need to be right.
You just need to be successful.
So… how do we stay motivated and stay in check?
Let’s break it into two parts:
Part 1: How to Take More Action
You are the CEO of your life and business.
And your first job? Clarity of vision.
You must know what you’re fighting for—and remind yourself daily.
Clarity → Confirmation → Action
Every project has three phases:
The beginning (high energy, lots of action)
The messy middle (doubt, chaos, tweaks)
The end (either sustainability… or failure)
Massive action in the beginning is required.
Relentless output. Violent effort.
But if you’re not tracking what you’re doing—you’ll never know if it’s working.
Here’s where most people fail:
The volume of action needed to even get useful data is overwhelming.
But those who push through hit a tipping point.
Effort compounds. Momentum builds.
And results start to snowball.
So here’s the 5-step formula:
Get clear on direction (Clarity & Vision)
Take massive f*cking action
Track everything
Analyze what moves the needle
Double down on what works
Simple, not easy.
But when this becomes your default mindset, you don’t need motivation.
You build momentum by doing.
Part 2: How to Stop Self-Sabotage
The other half of the game is restraint.
How do we stop ourselves from wasting time, burning money, or making ego-driven decisions?
Here’s what works for me:
Talk to yourself – Journal, voice memos, spreadsheets… whatever gets the truth out of your head and in front of your eyes.
Find smart people – Share the facts. Listen to feedback. You don’t have to follow their advice, but hear them out.
Study obsessively – Read, watch, learn. Arm yourself with data and wisdom.
Cut your losses – Pride won’t pay the bills. Know when to walk away.
If I could give you one final piece of advice?
Spend the most time on clarity.
Not busywork. Not fake productivity.
Go for walks. Change your environment. Ask hard questions.
Interrupt your patterns. Reset your compass.
Once your direction is right—go all in.
